The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has been working very successfully with DB Netz AG for many years to develop the next generation of engineers.

Our university is qualified to train DB Netz AG's dual students from all over Germany in the field of railroad control and safety technology.

Together with Deutsche Bahn, the university is launching a new project in April 2023 to help pupils from year 11 onwards explore exciting career fields and to inspire and prepare them for a dual study program at Deutsche Bahn.

The offer includes 6 webinars in the period from April to July 2023 and a final internship during the summer vacation at the university in Zittau.

Topics of the webinars:

  • Time and self-management
  • Application training (assessment)
  • Providing basic knowledge about the railroad system
  • Presentation of typical professional fields for university graduates in the engineering sector in the field of railroad control and safety technology

During the summer vacation, a 3-day summer camp takes place at the university, during which practical experience can be gained in the railroad laboratories and on excursions. By involving dual students from DB Netz AG, there will be opportunities for individual discussions "at eye level". And, of course, there will also be enough time to get to know the attractive university location and the Zittau Mountains.
