Visitor records at the Zittau "late shift"

Many interested visitors found their way to numerous Zittau companies and learned a lot of new things.

Last Friday, October 13, 2017, the "late shift " was called in Zittau. A total of ten regional companies opened their doors in the afternoon and offered visitors remarkable insights into their production halls and offices. Many interested visitors took advantage of this rare opportunity to visit the local companies on their own or as part of a guided tour. One company counted up to 400 visitors.

Interest, curiosity, the search for an apprenticeship or a job - there were several reasons why visitors made their way to the companies on the day. Experienced employees were waiting to answer visitors' questions and talk about their work. A wide range of career prospects in the companies were presented and current vacancies were advertised. Student assistants from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences were also on hand to provide information about degree courses, including the university's tried-and-tested KIA program.

Mayor Thomas Zenker, Prof. Dr. Tobias Zschunke, Vice-Rector for Research at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, and Matthias Schwarzbach, Head of the Zittau office of the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce, opened this year's "late shift" at 4 p.m. in the new RTT production hall together with the management of RTT Robotertechnik-Transfer GmbH. Afterwards, visitors were able to explore the companies according to their own interests.

For the second time in a row, the open company day was held under the name "Late Shift" and was organized in cooperation with the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the Zittau City Economic Development Agency and the Zittau branch of the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Due to the large number of interested visitors, this year's event was a complete success and we can look forward to next year's "late shift".
