For many young people, the HSZG is a milestone for their professional future, and not just for students.
An important stage in life begins: The new training year also began at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on August 8. Two young women began their 3-year vocational training as office management assistants. At the start of the winter semester, on September 1, a further four apprentices will begin their training as electronics technicians for devices and systems as part of the cooperative study program with integrated training. A total of 15 apprentices are currently undergoing training at the university. In the coming years, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will offer two places each for training as an office management assistant and as an electronics technician for devices and systems as part of the KIA course.
Vocational training has a long tradition at the HSZG: the university has also been a training company since 1970. At one time, three trainees a year were taken on as typing technicians. Industrial electronics technician training was added in 1984. Every year, six to seven people completed this training. At that time, it was not only carried out for the university but also for companies in the Zittau district.
Trainees recruit trainees: The following text was written by the trainees Elisa Sumara, who organized the event as part of her training as an office management assistant, and Elen Liebscher, who helped to run it:
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences organized a project day on 11 August as part of the BSZ Zittau's "get to know you" week. It began with a presentation about the university and the wide range of courses it offers. This was given by student advisor Dietmar Rößler. He gave a detailed explanation of the "cooperative study program with integrated training" and explained the application process to the pupils. The video podcasts of the "Studieren Probieren" project, which were filmed by pupils of the Evangelisches Zins-dorf Gymnasium Herrnhut on experiments from the fields of physics and chemistry, aroused particular interest. After the presentation, Ralf Schwarzbach and Rolf Funke gave the students a tour of the university library. They were particularly impressed by the workstations in the so-called carrels and the e-books.
