Training for managers successfully carried out to strengthen the health of employees.
In collaboration with Unfallkasse Sachsen, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) has developed a tailored training course for deans, heads of central facilities and institutes, department heads and their representatives. Managers with responsibility for occupational health and safety were addressed. The aim of the training is to impart practical knowledge and to strengthen the participants in their responsibility for keeping employees healthy.
The training was conducted by Dr. Goltz from Unfallkasse Sachsen together with Mr. Schulzensohn as HSZG's occupational safety specialist. Contents included the legal basis of occupational health and safety at universities, the organizational structure of occupational health and safety as well as processes such as risk assessments, occupational health care and cross-faculty processes.
Dr. Goltz from Unfallkasse Sachsen emphasized the special nature of the format: "This training is a pilot event within the Saxon universities."
With this offer, the HSZG is sending a clear signal for active occupational safety and actively supporting managers in their responsibility for the safety and health of their employees and students.
The training was already successfully held twice in 2024 and was offered again on March 7, 2025. A total of 32 people have taken part so far. "We would be happy to continue the event for other interested parties," says Uta Ebertz from the FH-Personal project.
