Together with Stadtwerke Zittau, Bosecker Verteilerbau Sachsen GmbH Zittau and Energie Ost Sachsen AG (ENSO), the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has an electric vehicle and a charging station on the Zittau campus, in the parking lot of House Z I, Theodor-Körner-Allee 16.
With the Nissan Leaf, our employees can commute between the university buildings and the Zittau and Görlitz campuses purely electrically and emission-free.
The vehicle is popular and frequently used, for example, by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which is represented at both locations and is therefore very keen to connect its departments in a climate-neutral way.
The special feature of the vehicle and the charging station is the fast charging via direct current (CHAdeMO). Alternating current charging via CCS and type 2 is also possible. The charging capacity is 22 kilowatts.
The Nissan Leaf can also feed the electricity back into the grid or into the building's power supply. In the event of a power failure, an emergency power supply could therefore be realized via the vehicle.
The charging station is also available to external users who can park their vehicle on the university campus for charging. The electricity can be paid for using standard methods such as RFID cards or smartphone apps.

Our janitors ride their bikes between the university buildings. And if a lot of tools need to be transported, an e-bike is a great support and the car can stay parked.
