Dr. Clemens Schneider wins the best slammer trophy at the second Saxony5 Science Slam in Mittweida.
As we all know, the first time is never easy. Especially not in front of the cameras.
Concentrated science in 10 minutes, packed into exciting, vivid presentations - Dr.-Ing. Clemens Schneider from the Institute of Process Engineering, Process Automation and Metrology faced this competition for the best "slam presentation" this year. Together with four other competitors, he competed for the trophy of the 2nd Saxony5 Science Slam on October 24 in the television studio at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
Even those who couldn't be there had the chance to follow the competition live via the Facebook page and vote for the best slammer in the online voting at the end.
In his contribution, Clemens Schneider presented the audience with the solution to a pressing question in life: how does a scientist apply his findings from reactor safety research to the rescue of an impending date under time pressure? Does an analysis model help in advance and are all parameters included? And how do you complete your doctorate while investigating the boiling crisis?
Dr. Schneider impressively demonstrated that cooking spaghetti with cold water in large pots is not too trivial for good research. See for yourself: Video recording of the Science Slam
