The project "Youth Moves Region - Region Moves Youth" or "Youth Vision Action" connects young people from three countries across borders and encourages them to develop visions for the future together. An important component is to bring them closer to the region. The students become artistically active together in various formats - including the Future Camp. In March, Master's student Annemarie Grünert visited the Future Camp for a day. She shares her impressions here.
The workshop day began with a warm-up in the theater hall of the Großhennersdorf meeting center, which is housed in a typical half-timbered house for the region. In the morning, the young participants and the workshop leaders engaged in a playful and physical duel to test their language skills. The Polish, Czech and German vocabulary was assigned body parts, which had to be understood and tapped at lightning speed. With a good mood and freshly produced adrenaline, the two workshops began. It was already the 6th day of the Future Camp and some of the young people had already settled into the camp routine so well and relaxed that they still had to be woken up by their fellow campers shortly before the start of the workshop. Half of the camp group went to the action art workshop, while the other half wrote and rehearsed pieces of music together under the expert guidance of artists. With the help of two language mediators, they switched back and forth between Czech, German, Polish and English as a matter of course. For one or two humorous moments, there was often no need for translation at all. I was allowed to join the music workshop and listen to the results of the previous workshop days in the form of a small concert shortly before lunch. I was very impressed by the joy of playing, the creativity and the cohesion of the "bands". I am grateful that the young people gave me an insight into their creative work, their thoughts and feelings this morning and I am excited to see what will develop from what they have created. The visit to Großhennersdorf ended for me with the charm of a hut in the cozy parlor of the meeting center over a delicious lunch.
