Thermal energy storage - experiences, challenges and prospects

CIO Energy Storage Working Group

City Z II, Room 104

The efficient temporal decoupling of energy between heat sources and consumers in thermal storage systems is still a challenge, regardless of volume.

Phase change media can be a useful addition. In combination with other types of storage, sector coupling can also achieve more independent, future-proof energy security.

  • To what extent can (process) waste heat be stored and used decoupled from time?
  • Which types of energy storage are currently technically feasible?
  • Which process media can be integrated and what are the economic parameters of integration and conversion?
  • What experiences have companies had with the implementation of storage media? And how can your company benefit from this?

To get to the bottom of these questions, the CLEANTECH Initiative Ostdeutschland, together with the IPM (Institute for Process Technology, Process Automation and Measurement Technology) of the HSZG, invites you to the CIO Energy Storage Working Group: "Thermal Energy Storage - Experiences, Challenges & Outlooks" on February 4, 2020 in Zittau.

The aim of the working group is to bring companies and research institutions together, develop joint project approaches and expand networks. The CIO also provides subsequent support in finding suitable cooperation partners or funding, project design and much more.
