A needs-based energy supply is a prerequisite for any economic system. In addition, energy supply must be environmentally friendly and economical. The modernization of our energy supply system also aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while at the same time reducing the consumption of fossil resources. In this context, bioenergy will play an important role in the future energy supply due to its wide range of applications, its fundamental climate friendliness and, above all, its good storage capacity.
The 28th symposium "Use of Renewable Resources: Biomass - Heat - Power" on 22 and 23 May 2025 in Zittau will focus in particular on the use of solid biomass for energy. This takes into account the entire process chain from the cultivation, harvesting and processing of biomass to the conversion process for the provision of useful energy and the problem of residues. The variety of technical approaches to this is enormous, and thermochemical biomass gasification will be a thematic focus of the event on the first day. On the second day, the focus will be on possibilities for municipal heat supply as well as new fuels and recycling methods.
Experts and interested parties will be given the opportunity to present and discuss their experiences, findings and scientific work. Registration is possible until 30.04.2025.
