The course deals with the diversity of communication and its effects on individuals and groups and thus has direct socio-political relevance. The focus is on communication processes as an essential means of coordinating action.
Communication is found in all social and many multimedia domains.

Applicants with a qualification as a technician, business economist, master craftsman or similar. Completion of advanced vocational training in accordance with §18(3) of the SächsHSG must take part in a counseling interview for general university admission.
*The degree program is admission-restricted(Numerus Clausus), as a limited number of study places are available. The NC value will only be determined during the application process. We therefore recommend that you apply if you are interested and, depending on your Abitur grade, indicate a second choice.
Communication takes place in all areas of society and in a wide variety of ways.
Accordingly, the requirements for communication processes are very different depending on with whom and how communication takes place. Under these conditions, successful communication is by no means a matter of course, but requires a wide range of prerequisites and skills on the part of those communicating.
Furthermore, communication is subject to continuous social change. Direct and constant communication in the digital age offers completely new opportunities and challenges for interpersonal communication.
Building on a course of study based on classical psychological principles, these central aspects of communication are explored in greater depth in the following two application subjects:
In addition, essential personal skills for communication psychologists are taught, such as cooperation, social skills, self-management and self-reflection.
The overarching goal of the degree programme is to train psychologists who are experts in interpersonal and organizational communication processes and are professionally proficient in the design and use of various media.
