Students analyze software for integrated management systems (IMS)

There has never been anything like it before. The resulting market overview provides companies with considerable support in their choice of software.

According to our research, there has never been anything like it before: a market overview of currently available IMS software alternatives, including a thorough analysis of their compliance with standards.

As part of the "Software Applications" module of the "Integrated Management Systems"/"Integrated Management " Master's course  , our students evaluated the national and international IMS software on offer in collaboration with the TÜV-Rheinland Group and TÜV Media GmbH. In a first step, the analysis criteria for software were compiled and clustered. In a second step, a list of current providers of IMS software at national and international level was compiled. The IMS software of selected providers was then analyzed and the analysis results were prepared in a clear and criteria-based manner.

The results of the analysis were published as an article in the renowned reference work "Der TÜV Umweltmanagement-Berater", a standard work for all those active in the field of (environmental) management systems.

This provides companies considering the use of software for their integrated management system with a good information base and basis for decision-making. This is because organizations face challenges when selecting suitable software, as there are many providers on the market and the decision criteria vary from company to company.

The publication of the paper as an e-book is planned as the next step. We are very pleased about the recognition of the achievements of our students and our team and would like to thank everyone involved for the not always easy analysis work.
