New service in the CampusApp
The introduction of a digital process for the withdrawal of examination components at short notice will make student life at HSZG easier in the future.
Last-minute withdrawal from examination components is now possible via our CampusApp: a relief for our students
The university is pleased to announce the launch of a new digital withdrawal process for examination components. This project was implemented through close collaboration within an agile project team involving various stakeholders and organizational units at the university, including the Vice President for Education and International Affairs, Professor Sophia Keil, the University Data Centre under the leadership of Lars Rönisch and Ivo Noack, the Digitalization Coordinator Kerstin Korb, and the division of Student Services & International Affairs under the leadership of Dr. Lucie Koutkova and Lydia Seifert.
The digital withdrawal procedure (request for recognition of the reasons for non-participation in an examination component) offers students a simple way to withdraw from examination components at short notice. This makes it easier to deal with unexpected health or caregiving emergencies and reduces the associated stress. It should be emphasized that this applies exclusively to last-minute non-participation in an exam due to illness or the need to care for family members. Withdrawal from an examination in accordance with §14 of the HSZG Examination Regulations is not yet possible digitally.
By digitizing the withdrawal process, we make it easier for students to deal with unforeseen challenges while also creating a modern, student-friendly infrastructure.

Implementation of the project began in February 2024, and during the pilot phase in April/May 2024, the university’s central examination board and the student council were involved. Their input was crucial in ensuring that the process meets the needs of students. The initiative will be launched on June 20, 2024.
As Vice President for Education and International Affairs, providing excellent service to our students is particularly important to me. It is crucial that our students be able to complete necessary administrative tasks quickly and easily so that they can focus fully on their personal development and their studies. The digitization of processes is an excellent tool for achieving this. I am very pleased that we have integrated the process for the short-term withdrawal from examination components into our CampusApp, and I would like to thank everyone involved in its implementation. At the same time, I would like to encourage our students and staff to submit further suggestions regarding which processes they would like to see integrated into the CampusApp.
”Students can easily use the new withdrawal procedure via the university’s form service, which is available at any time through the “MyHSZG” campus app. The form service is new, and this is the first process to be implemented in a digital form specifically designed for students. Students simply need to enter their login credentials, provide a reason for withdrawal, and upload the necessary supporting documents. After submitting the form, they will receive an automatic confirmation that the email has been received.
The form can also be accessed via the Examination Office’s website.
The introduction of this digital withdrawal procedure marks an important step toward greater flexibility and reduced burden for students. It offers them the opportunity to organize their time more efficiently and better cope with unforeseen health and personal challenges.
As the student representative body, we welcome the newly created option for our students to withdraw from examination components in a simple and unbureaucratic manner. This is an important first step toward the digital transformation of our university and provides flexibility in special life situations. We look forward to the gradual implementation of additional forms and applications in an accessible digital format.
