New service in the CampusApp

The introduction of a digital procedure for withdrawing from examinations at short notice will make student life at the HSZG easier in future.

Withdrawal from exams at short notice now possible in our CampusApp: a relief for our students

The university is pleased to announce the launch of a new digital withdrawal procedure for ex aminations. This project was realized in close cooperation in an agile project team with various stakeholders and structural units of the university, including the Vice-Rector for Education and International Affairs, Professor Sophia Keil, the University Computer Center under the direction of Lars Rönisch and Ivo Noack, the Digitization Coordinator Kerstin Korb, the Department of Studies and International Affairs under the direction of Dr. Lucie Koutkova and Lydia Seifert.

The digital withdrawal procedure (application for recognition of reasons for non-participation in the examination) offers students the simple option of withdrawing from examinations at  at short notice. This makes it easier to deal with unexpected health or care emergencies and reduces the associated stress. It should be emphasized that this only applies to short-term non-participation in the examination due to illness or the care of relatives. It is not yet possible to withdraw from an examination digitally in accordance with §14 of the HSZG examination regulations.

By digitalizing the withdrawal process, we are making it easier for students to deal with unforeseeable challenges and at the same time creating a modern, student-friendly infrastructure.
Kerstin Korb, Digitization Coordinator

With this measure, the university is sending a clear signal of its commitment to becoming a family-friendly, service-oriented university for our students.

The implementation of the project started in February 2024, and during the test phase in April/May 2024, the university's central examination board and the student council were involved. Their input was crucial in ensuring that the process meets the needs of students. The launch will take place on June 20, 2024.

As Vice-Rector for Education and International Affairs, a high level of service orientation for our students is particularly important to me. It is crucial that our students can complete necessary administrative tasks quickly and easily so that they can concentrate fully on their development and studies. The digitalization of processes is an excellent tool for this. I am delighted that we have integrated the process for withdrawing from exams at short notice into our CampusApp and would like to thank everyone involved in its implementation. At the same time, I would like to encourage our students and staff to submit further suggestions as to which processes they would like to see integrated into the CampusApp.
Prof. Dr. Sophia Keil, Vice-Rector for Education and International Affairs

Students can easily use the new withdrawal procedure via the university's form service, which is available at any time via the campus app "MyHSZG". The form service is new and the illustration is the first process in a digital form that has been specially developed for students. All students have to do is enter their registration details, state a reason for deregistration and upload the relevant supporting documents. After submitting the form, they receive an automatic confirmation that the email has been received.

The form can also be accessed via the website of the Examinations Office.

The introduction of this digital withdrawal procedure marks an important step towards flexibility and relief for students. It offers them the opportunity to organize their time more efficiently and deal better with unforeseen health and personal challenges.

As student representatives, we welcome the newly created opportunity for our students to withdraw from examinations easily and unbureaucratically. This is an important first step in the digitalization of our university and creates flexibility in special life situations. We look forward to the gradual implementation of further forms and applications in low-threshold digital form.
