Amaliengarten - Urban Gardening

The Amaliengarten is an urban gardening project initiated by the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the city of Zittau.

On the site where an apartment building was once a place of coexistence, the Amaliengarten is a new, public and lively place for the coexistence of people and nature in Zittau.

Together with students, schoolchildren, citizens, young people and children, we want to make knowledge, skills and experience available, share them and pass them on to each other.

On topics such as horticulture, plants, soil, seeds, processing and preparing fruit and vegetables, insects and animal helpers, everyone should be able to get involved and help shape our Amaliengarten.

We want to try out and exchange ideas, revive old cultural techniques and cultivation methods, make a contribution to urban ecology and sustainable consumption in Zittau.

We show a possible sustainable form of urban life and motivate people to participate and imitate.

Everyone who is interested, motivated and enjoys gardening together, designing gardens and sharing experiencesis very welcome. We look forward to seeing you!

Our next meetings

every Wednesday from 15:30

The Amaliengarten supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
