Students of the day after tomorrow explore ZKWL

The "Knirpshausen" daycare center visits the Zittau power plant laboratory.

Recently, the Director of the Institute of Process Engineering, Process Automation and Metrology, Prof. Frank Worlitz, welcomed some very special guests to the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory (ZKWL) - children from the "Knirpshausen" daycare center with their teachers.

The teachers had asked if they could visit the ZKWL. The reason for this was certainly the donation of the prize money from the young scientists awarded the "Prof. Hans-Joachim Hildebrand Prize" to the "Knirpshausen" daycare center in Zittau. "It was wonderful to explain the technology to the little tots," said Prof. Worlitz. "I had taken a model with me to the ZKWL so that I could better describe magnetic processes to the children and was surprised at how enthusiastic the children were and how many questions they asked. The time was over in no time at all," continued Prof. Worlitz, adding that perhaps in a few years' time we will be able to welcome one or two of the youngsters as young men or women to study at our university.
