Prof. Raj Kollmorgen reflects on "35 years of German unification and the challenges of the present" during his lecture tour in the southwest of France.
Prof. Raj Kollmorgen(Faculty of SocialSciences/TRAWOSInstitute) visited the southwest of France from March 16 to 21, 2025 at the invitation of the Goethe-Institut Toulouse. His journey took him from Bordeaux via Pau to Toulouse. In addition to discussions with colleagues from various universities and cultural institutions about possible academic collaborations, Prof. Kollmorgen gave several lectures during his stay.
While he gave a lecture on right-wing populism in East Germany at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour (UPPA) - organized by the Heinrich Mann Institute in Pau - he also gave a lecture on "35 years of German unification and the challenges of the present" at the Université Toulouse Capitole.
In the discussions and lectures, Prof. Kollmorgen also reported on the university's teaching and research profile as well as the structural change processes in Lusatia and the three-country region. The transnational dimensions in the German-Polish-Czech border region in particular met with great interest from the hosts. The talks are to be continued.
