Smart grids are an important component in successfully overcoming the challenges of the so-called energy transition. All components of the energy system are networked with each other in order to ensure efficient system operation with the increasing number of decentralized generation plants - e.g. renewable energy sources.
In this laboratory, students on the Electrical Energy Systems degree course, who are majoring in Smart Grids and Systems and Renewable Energy Systems, can familiarize themselves with the challenges of smart grids in a very practical way.
It is therefore no wonder that the handover of the laboratory by the supplier of the equipment was met with great interest by the university lecturers and staff of the department.
