Germany's first energy efficiency and climate protection network launched in Saxony's Upper Lusatia region.
The Upper Lusatia Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Network (EEKN-OL) will be the first official network within the Germany-wide Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection Networks initiative.
The Upper Lusatian network has been in existence since 2016 and is now in its third phase. The network has grown steadily: 14 companies have currently joined forces in the EEKN-OL.
Since the beginning, the network has been professionally managed and moderated by the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and supported by the Saxon Energy Agency (SAENA) GmbH and the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce. While the thematic focus in the first two network phases was on the areas of energy data and key figures, energy technology and energy management systems, the companies will now also embark on the path to climate neutrality.
Under the motto "More successful together!", the network companies met at the end of December for a digital kick-off workshop to find new approaches to decarbonization in the future. These include both the preparation of greenhouse gas balances and the development of climate strategies for implementation in the companies.
