The Office for Gender Equality, Inclusion, Women's and Diversity Research at the HSZG has started its work.
To further develop gender equality and diversity sensitivity at the university and in the Lusatia region. This is the aim of the Office for Gender Equality, Inclusion, Women's and Diversity Research (AGIFD) at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. The so-called AGIFD has now started its work.
After an intensive period of preparation, the first meeting of the working group took place on 06.07.2022 in the Senate Hall in Zittau. On this day, more than twenty interested people took the opportunity for an initial intensive exchange and contributed their ideas on gender- and diversity-oriented university development. After a welcoming address by the Rector Prof. Dr. Alexander Kratzsch, a presentation of basic work objectives by the Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Dr. Raj Kollmorgen and introductory technical impulses by Monique Ritter (M.A.), the participants entered into a stimulating debate. In an open discourse, needs and positions were articulated and programmatic orientations and possible implementation strategies of the AGIFD were discussed.
It was agreed to create a functioning organizational structure in the coming months and to develop a work plan for the next academic year 2022/23 in order to make the different perspectives on gender equality and diversity policy at the university and in the (Upper) Lusatia region visible, to discuss them and to work together on ideas and solutions.
Many thanks to all colleagues and students who enriched the first meeting of the working group with their contributions to the discussion, suggestions and ideas. The working group invites all interested university staff and students to participate in further work. You are very welcome! For further information, please contact Monique Ritter.
