PhD student Elmira Yeralin from Kazakhstan visited her university supervisor in Germany in March.
In March 2017, doctoral student Ms. Elmira Yeralin visited her university supervisor, Prof. Giese, in Germany. During this visit, many questions regarding the content of the doctoral thesis on the topic: "The role of the educational process as a competitive factor for the Kazakh economy - requirements, design options, effectiveness" were discussed.
At the same time, talks were also held with the Vice-Rector for Education and International Affairs on the organization of teaching and research at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Cultural activities rounded off the program.
Prof. Giese has so far successfully completed 8 doctorates, 6 of them in cooperation with TURAN University Almaty. Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the concrete study of foreign, primarily European experience in solving technical and social challenges. As part of their doctoral studies, each doctoral candidate must spend a certain amount of time at the host institutions of their foreign supervisors and experience the discussion and possible solution of comparable problems on site. Thanks to a good command of English (in addition to Russian and Kazakh), it is possible to discuss many questions with scientists and experts on site.
