AMiCE Info-Market

Discuss and inform about current developments in additive manufacturing and the circular economy.

With the AMiCE Info-Market to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Zittau University of Applied Sciences, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences brought topics of digitalization to the city of Zittau using the example of additive manufacturing and the associated circular economy. Participants from regional companies as well as representatives from domestic and foreign research institutions accepted the invitation to learn about and discuss current developments in additive manufacturing and issues relating to the circular economy from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The AMiCE project and the tasks and objectives of the Enterprise Europe Network were presented at the beginning. Mr. Thomas Scholz, Managing Director of Arno Hentschel GmbH and HSZG alumni, introduced the change process in the field of additive manufacturing. Mr. Scholz described the introduction of the new technology and the associated complex issues of strategy, network and personnel development for companies. Issues relating to risk and customer management were also highlighted. The Fraunhofer Plastics Center Oberlausitz - Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU Zittau, complemented this topic with a presentation of the institute's current technologies as well as approaches in the context of the circular economy and the laser-sintering process.

Additive manufacturing presents challenges and great potential for socio-ecological research in order to solve sustainability problems. This requires interdisciplinary and problem-solving-oriented cooperation between researchers, producers and consumers, which has been strengthened and expanded by the AMiCE Info-Market.
