2nd place in the Lusatian Science Transfer Prize 2017

Zittau researchers impress with software for controlling decentralized energy generation plants

On April 24th, the Lusatian Economic Initiative awarded the Lusatian Science Transfer Prize (LWTP), endowed with a total of 10,000 euros, to three cooperation projects from the region for the 6th time. One of the prizewinners is also from Zittau. Together with HSZG, USE MY ENERGY GmbH Zittau expanded the functionality of its software with the aim of increasing the efficiency of decentralized energy generation plants. The jury rewarded this with 2nd place and EUR 3,000 in prize money.

"The evaluation of the submitted documents for the jury was exciting again this year, it was not easy to make a selection. The award-winning innovations stand out once again from all the competition entries due to their innovative strength and met the jury's requirements to a high degree: Their solution approach is extremely creative and the benefits for both the participating companies and the universities are very high. My congratulations go to the winners, but also to the other participants. They all bring the often-used term 'innovation' to life. They are outstanding examples of the innovative strength of the Lusatia economic region."

Jürgen Fuchs, Chairman of the Board of BASF Schwarzheide GmbH and LWTP jury chairman

The award ceremony took place on the BTU campus in Senftenberg. Representatives of the participating companies from Bronkow, Zittau and Luckau as well as the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the HSZG accepted the prizes. A total of eight projects were submitted.
