What?

Granite - a treasure of our Upper Lusatia

How can I recognize the granite often found in Upper Lusatia? What are its characteristics? Where does it occur? What properties make it so valuable for use in construction?

The children learn about the most important steps in the extraction of granite, its processing and subsequent use. The lecture is illustrated with pictures and child-friendly schematic diagrams as well as many rock examples that Professor Schwerter brings along from his extensive mineral collection.
