The theme day is aimed at senior citizens and representatives from the field of elderly care and offers a practical insight into the possible applications of artificial intelligence and assistance technologies for a self-determined life in old age.

The first presentation of the day will deal with the basics of artificial intelligence and big data and how senior citizens can use and benefit from them for a self-determined life in old age. Afterwards, participants will have the exciting opportunity to interact with an AI chatbot.

The second part of the event will focus on the use of assistance technologies and everyday helpers in the home. After a presentation by Professor Hoff, participants will be taken on a virtual tour of the AAL lab in Görlitz. Some of the technology can be tried out on site.

In addition to comprehensive information, the event will also offer participants the opportunity to try out the modern technology for themselves.

As part of the event, there will be a concluding panel discussion from 16:15 to 17:15 on the question: "How can AI help to solve the challenges of an ageing society?" with representatives from politics, business, science and civil society.

You will have the opportunity to take part in the panel discussion and learn about the potential applications of artificial intelligence in everyday life and discuss the opportunities offered by new technologies with researchers and people working in elderly care.
