Lecture series: Reconciling care and work

In view of the shortage of skilled workers in many professions, including care, German society cannot do without the care of relatives and the German economy cannot do without their professional activities. It is therefore essential that care and work can be successfully reconciled.
This lecture will present the current status of reconciling care and work as well as the corresponding legal regulations. With the Family Caregiver Leave Act 2015, the Independent Advisory Council on the Compatibility of Care and Work was set up to critically monitor the federal government in this regard. The speaker is deputy chairman of this committee and has chaired the work of the advisory board since 2015. He will conclude with a critical summary and make suggestions for the further development of this field.
