Slowly but surely, the Akademische Chor e.V. is also allowed to resume its work...

In small steps, our choir is getting back on track! We have been rehearsing regularly again since May and are currently working on a project that we would like to realize together with the Prague Chamber Choir. In September, we will be recording two song cycles entitled "Halligpsalmen" and "Wind" by Neithard Bethke. Great texts by Dietrich Heyde and Uwe Steffen were arranged for choir and organ or accordion - the result is songs that tell an impressive story of life on the North Sea coast. We would like to thank the Sparkasse Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien and the Landesdirektion Sachsen for their financial support, which we have had to reallocate and postpone several times since 2020. We would also like to thank the Protestant parish in Kemnitz - where the recordings are to take place.

A few days ago, we received a new grant for our choral work: the Bundesmusikverband Chor- und Orchester e.V. is supporting our projects that we are planning together with the parishes in Upper Lusatia until the end of December. These include musical services, of course, but also recordings and collaborations with choirs, as well as this year's summer academy for organists from August 22-29, 2021.
As part of NEUSTART KULTUR, the IMPULS support program is intended to provide musicians with impulses and motivational support for sustainable strengthening and increased visibility for a prompt restart. The ensembles are to be enabled to quickly resume rehearsal and concert activities and receive support in the transformation processes accelerated by the pandemic in the areas of (re)recruiting members and digitality.
