In this short online workshop, the discussions of Dresden engineering pedagogy on the teaching material-time problem are examined and their relevance for today's engineering university teaching is explored. The basics of Hering, Lichtenecker and Lohmann as well as their considerations on teaching content and teaching structure will be explained. In addition, specific approaches such as the systematization of educational material according to stages of knowledge formation and functions of content for the actions of engineers, philosophical categories for structuring goal-oriented paths of knowledge and selection of teaching material as well as exemplary teaching/learning are presented.
