The fact that energy economics is a very important and systemically significant industry became painfully clear to many during the gas shortage of 2022. Competitive energy trading—in theory and in practice—promotes prosperity, innovation, and climate protection through the efficient allocation of scarce primary energy sources. Currently, there is discussion about the importance and market design of energy trading for implementing the energy transition and transitioning to the hydrogen economy.

We are pleased to have Mr. Thorsten Körner and Dr. Olga Naumov from Leipziger Stadtwerke as speakers for the event. Mr. Körner has over 30 years of professional experience in European energy economics, including roles as department head, division head of energy trading, and managing director. Dr. Naumov is a senior manager of technology and innovation projects and an expert on hydrogen at Leipziger Stadtwerke.
The colloquium is a joint event organized by the Institute for Process Engineering, Process Automation, and Measurement Technology (IPM), the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (F-M), and the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management (F-W).
