"Electricity and gas trading"
Thorsten Körner, Leipziger Stadtwerke

"Development of the hydrogen market"
Dr. Olga Naumov, Leipziger Stadtwerke

Many people became painfully aware that the energy industry is a very important and systemically relevant industry during the gas shortage situation in 2022. Competitively organized energy trading ensures - so the theory and the claim - welfare, innovation and climate protection through the efficient allocation of scarce primary energy sources. The importance and market design of energy trading for the implementation of the energy transition and the entry into the hydrogen economy are currently being discussed.

Anyone interested in learning more about the complexity of energy trading is cordially invited to join us on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in building Z VII, lecture hall 112 at 2:15 pm .

As speakers for the event we were able to win Mr. Thorsten Körner and Dr. Olga Naumov from Leipziger Stadtwerke. Mr. Körner has over 30 years of professional experience in the European energy industry, including  as head of department, head of energy trading and managing director. Dr. Naumov is Senior Manager Technology & Innovation Projects and an expert on hydrogen at Leipziger Stadtwerke.

The colloquium is a joint event of the Institute of Process Engineering, Process Automation and Metrology (IPM), the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (F-M) and the Faculty of Economics and Industrial Engineering (F-W).
