"Not only is there currently a great diversity of student life contexts and educational biographies in higher education, but the spectrum of differences between students has also grown significantly." (Kaufmann, M.; Satilmis, A.: 2018)
What does this statement mean in concrete terms for higher education teaching and learning scenarios? After a brief input on diversity and equal opportunities in the university context, we will collect various case studies from teaching practice in which student diversity plays a role. We will then explore the question of what teachers and students alike need for discrimination-sensitive teaching and learning.
What do students want? What further training and support do teachers need in order to be able to respond adequately to an increasingly diverse student body?
The workshop is aimed equally at lecturers and students at the HSZG.
The workshop will be led by Janna Burr and Julia Lochner from the "ChanGe - Chancengerechte Hochschule" project of the University Didactics Saxony in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Coordination Office. The project is developing a self-study program for university lecturers on the topic of diversity-sensitive teaching.
The workshop will take place in House G I, Room 1.20, Görlitz.
