to a guest lecture as part of the faculty colloquium

How Will We Pay in Five Years? An empirical study by the Deutsche Bundesbank already shows a significant change in payment behavior in Germany today. In addition to cash and debit cards, new payment instruments and methods—such as contactless payments or payments via smartphone—are increasingly being used. What does the future hold for payment transactions and for cash?

On Friday, May 24, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., we will welcome Mr. Markus Altmann from the Deutsche Bundesbank, Regional Office for Saxony and Thuringia, to Building Z II, Room 209. He will give a presentation on the topic “Bitcoins, Smartphones, and More—How Will People Pay in Germany in the Future?” and will, of course, be available to answer questions.

All interested parties are cordially invited.
