Time measurement with method

HSZG students learn to analyze and optimize work processes in the MTM course.

The MTM method (method time measurement) creates a standard for efficient work systems that focus on people and their work. The course for students is offered as an additional qualification in cooperation with the MTM Institute in Zeuthen (near Berlin) at the HSZG.

MTM as an abbreviation for the English term 'methods-time measurement'  is a procedure for analyzing work processes and determining planned and target times. It is the most frequently used 'system of predetermined times' in work studies and is used across all industries worldwide.

The first MTM training course for students took place at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences from February 21 to March 4, 2022. Nine participants from the faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Economics and Industrial Engineering successfully completed this training.

'MTM for students' consists of the MTM modules MTM 1-Base and MTM-UAS and is taught using a didactic concept specially developed for colleges and universities. Due to the pandemic-related circumstances, the training was held online in February.

Keep an eye on the time!

The 'MTM for students' training program is not only aimed at students of engineering and related disciplines, but can also be used in a wide variety of areas, such as nursing.

The next training course is planned for February/March 2023.

If you are interested, please contact Prof. Dr. Martin Sturm, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He organizes the course and will be happy to provide further information.
