Visitors had the opportunity to take advantage of the extensive program on offer at both campuses. The Zittau campus offered guided tours of laboratories, lectures and workshops, among other things. The Görlitz campus also presented itself with a wide range of events that offered a comprehensive insight into the courses on offer and the university's facilities. Rector Alexander Kratzsch was delighted with the great response:
More than 130 dedicated employees from the faculties, institutes, administration and staff units helped to make the day an experience for the more than 750 visitors. Prospective students from Berlin, Brandenburg, Thuringia, Bavaria, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony as well as Poland and the Czech Republic were guests, which underlines the great appeal of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences beyond the borders of the federal state and the federal states.
In addition to the presentation of the degree programs, interested parties were also able to have personal discussions with university lecturers, students and staff, thus obtaining valuable first-hand information. The Student Advisory Service also offered individual counseling sessions to help students choose a course and answer questions about their studies.
Studentenwerk Dresden was on site and offered detailed advice on financing options and housing in Zittau and Görlitz to help prospective students get off to a smooth start to their studies.
Another highlight of the day was the culinary offer, which was organized in cooperation with regional partners and the student council. Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy regional specialties and chat about studying and life in Zittau and Görlitz over a relaxed get-together.
The campus tours gave prospective students a comprehensive insight into the university's premises and facilities. In addition, city tours were also offered, giving guests the opportunity to get to know the cultural and historical features of the two cities. In Görlitz, for example, there was an alternative city tour led by members of RABRYKA (Center for Youth and Socioculture).
