Saxon Film Academy on Tour

The SFA opens the Film Summer of the Saxony Film Association in Leipzig and positions itself as a point of contact against the acute shortage of skilled workers in the film industry.

Once again this year, the Saxon Film Association hosted the traditional Film Summer Saxony, where representatives of the film industry, funding organizations and broadcasters met in Leipzig to talk about the issues currently affecting the film industry.

Bernd Hölsken, coordinator of the Saxon Film Academy, opened the series of high-caliber discussion rounds with a presentation on the work and offerings of the new film academy in Görlitz. Green filming, the future of film festivals and family-friendliness in the film industry were the topics of the following expert panels.

In the last panel discussion, Daniela Mussgiller from MDR, Minister of State Oliver Schenk, Claas Danielsen from MDM, Detlef Heuke from ver.di and Alina Cyranek from Filmverband Sachsen discussed how to counteract the acute shortage of skilled workers in the film industry.

The new Saxon Film Academy was also mentioned several times and its importance for the development of Saxony / Central Germany as a film location was emphasized. The Filmakademie would like to thank Joachim Günther, Daphna Dreifuss, Tobias Mosig and the team from Filmverband Sachsen for the kind invitation, the warmly professional organization and a wonderful film summer 2022.
