Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, Rector of the HSZG, was elected Deputy Chairman of the Saxony Rectors' Conference.
At their meeting on November 30, 2023, the members of the Saxony Rectors' Conference (LRK) re-elected Prof. Dr. Barbknecht as Chairman of the Board. The rectors of the state universities in Saxony voted in favor of a third term of office for the rector of TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
In addition to this confirmation, there were also new elections for the positions of Deputy Chairperson. From the group of universities of applied sciences, the Rector of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, was elected Deputy Chair from December 1, 2023. In future, he will also act as spokesperson for the universities of applied sciences.
Prof. Dr. Alexander Kratzsch wants to engage in dialogue, exchange ideas and get things moving together in order to establish Saxony as a cosmopolitan science location in all its aspects. The constructive cooperation between the Saxony Rectors' Conference and the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) is particularly important to him. "I am all the more pleased that the LRK Saxony decided at its general meeting on November 30 to appoint me to the HRK Senate on December 1, 2023," said the Rector. "I am very grateful for the trust placed in me."
Alongside him, Agnes Wegner, Rector of the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, was appointed Deputy Chair from the group of art colleges.
