Learning project management through play

In the workshop, the students received theoretical input and had to put it into practice by building a model.

At the beginning of November, the project management simulation game took place as an offer from our university's career service for students. Project management is always seen as a necessary skill for starting and living a career. But even in everyday student life, there are always projects that need to be managed, whether it's creating a document or organizing a party. Project management can be found everywhere.

In this workshop, the students received theoretical input and had to put it into practice on a game board and by building a model. First, the students were given practical examples to explain what a project is, what characterizes it and what phases it is divided into. The students went through all the phases of an example project, from definition, conception and planning through to implementation. The focus was on the description of objectives, the work breakdown structure, the Gantt chart, milestones, work packages, risks, controlling, documentation and project completion. As projects take place in teams, input was also given on the topic of team roles and experienced with methodological tools.

The students were completely satisfied with the nature of the workshop and would recommend it to others. The organization and atmosphere were also praised.

We wish the students a successful time and thank them for their participation!
