OHA! Science podcast for children.

The HSZG presents a new podcast for the curious researchers of tomorrow. So get on the sofa and listen up!

Let your mind run free and head off into the forest - you and your family can do this from the comfort of your sofa. With our new science podcast for children: OHA! Science Adventure, we take you on risky ventures, perilous journeys and the exploration of unknown territories - on the adventure of science.

Upper Lusatia has been a scientific region for over 200 years - for some years now, more and more research institutions have been concentrating along the Mandau and Neisse rivers. The topics could not be more different. Why do researchers go into the forest in search of wolf droppings? Will we soon be able to replace plastic with banana peels? How can we make the internet more secure? Will we soon be able to print bicycles?

In this podcast, the scientists next door have their say. People in Upper Lusatia, and of course far beyond, can get to know "their" scientists. Through direct conversation, everyday problems  are vividly linked with scientific perspectives and potential solutions. Above all, however, the focus is on people. When science is given a face - or in this case a voice - it becomes approachable and creates trust.

Were we able to inspire you with the podcast? Do you have a topic that should definitely be accessible to young listeners? Then write to us!

We would like to thank Prof. Maja Dshemuchadse and Prof. Jakob Hildebrandt for making this pilot project a success. An equally big thank you goes to Paul Lippitsch, Thomas Lübcke and Christian Dücker from the Senckenberg Society/Senckenberg Museum Görlitz. We would also like to thank journalist Cristina Helberg and sound engineer Christian Fischer for their dedicated work.
