Degree Programme Staff Member (m/f/d) - Clinical Nursing Practice with a Focus on Geriatric Care -

The position involves the following tasks in particular:

• Collaborating on the (further) development of the practical components of forward-looking nursing degree programs, including the implementation of skills and SimLab sessions,
• coordinating and facilitating collaboration across learning settings (university, nursing practice, and clinical instructors), organizing meetings for clinical instructors, and similar tasks,
• Providing information and advising prospective students, as well as clinical sites, and
• Participating in public relations activities, e.g., attending trade shows and university information days, events for high school students, and creating informational materials

Upon commencement of academic operations:

• Courses in the modules of the nursing degree programs (Section 78 of the Saxon Higher Education Act),
• Supervision of clinical placements (Section 38(3) of the Saxon Nursing Act [PflBG]), with a focus on the care and nursing of older and elderly people.
• Coordination and supervision of students during their clinical placements.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

• a completed university degree related to the above-mentioned field of responsibility, preferably in nursing and nursing sciences, nursing education, medical education, or a comparable field,
• Completed vocational training in a nursing profession in accordance with § 1 PflBG, as well as practical experience in nursing care,
• Proof of expertise in geriatric nursing,
• pedagogical and didactic skills in teaching,
• Experience and professional expertise in current legal requirements for academic nursing education (general nursing),
• good written communication skills and analytical thinking, as well as
• a driver’s license.

In addition, the following are desirable:

• knowledge of and experience with university-level teaching methods,
• knowledge of simulated teaching (Skills/SimLab),
• knowledge of university-related structures and processes,
• research experience, as well as
• additional language skills.
