The discussion focused on teaching quality, successful learning and forward-looking higher education.
How can we best support good teaching, successful learning and contemporary higher education at our university? This was the topic of the annual meeting between Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and Hochschuldidaktik Sachsen (HDS).
In the annual meeting between our university and HDS, the topics of good teaching, successful learning and contemporary university teaching were discussed. The meeting, in which Dr. Claudia Bade from HDS took part as a guest, took place in summer 2023.
One piece of good news was the appointment of Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Sophia Keil to the HDS Executive Board. This position gives our university an important voice in the strategic management of HDS in line with Saxony's university development planning. In particular, she would like to advocate the development of needs-based further education courses for all teaching staff. The Executive Board accepts the recommendations of the Board of Trustees and represents the HDS in the national and international university public. It also decides on the HDS business plan, appoints the members of the Board of Trustees and reports to the Supervisory Board.
The annual meeting began with a warm welcome from HSZG Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, who emphasized the importance of good cooperation between our university and HDS. The discussion focused on various topics, including the understanding of the role of the HSZG, the presentation of the HDS annual plan and a summary by the lecturer for university didactics. Particular attention was paid to the continuing education courses in higher education didactics that have been specially developed for professors at universities of applied sciences.
The results of the annual meeting demonstrate the joint efforts of both institutions to improve the quality of teaching and provide students with an inspiring and future-oriented education.
