Strengthening intercultural resilience.
A joint cultural studies research volume by the HSZG and the University of Pécs in Hungary will be published at the end of the Saxony Guest Researcher Program.
Zsuzsa Koltai, a Hungarian cultural policy scholar from the University of Pécs, was a visiting scholar at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences as part of the Saxony Visiting Scholars Program, at the invitation of the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies and on the initiative of Prof. Matthias Theodor Vogt, to address the question: How do we want to live together peacefully in the future?
Funding from the Free State of Saxony made it possible to discuss this question with a wide range of other experts from Germany, Poland, Austria, Georgia, Cameroon, and Mongolia—and, of course, with the students at the university. On November 8, 2023, Zsuzsa Koltai and Matthias Theodor Vogt published the findings of the research stay as a special issue of the academic journal of the University of Pécs: “Cross-cultural resilience building / Strengthening Intercultural Resilience.” The volume is available here.
Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is pleased that this publication allows the vital contacts with Hungary—which are so important for Görlitz students and faculty—to continue, and that the topic of intercultural resilience, which is so crucial for the structural development of the region around Görlitz and Zittau, could be explored in greater depth.
