For this year, we invite all those interested in technical education to the Online Pre-Conference 2020 of the 15th Annual Engineering Education Conference 2021 on Friday, October 23, 2020, from 9 am to 1 pm.
Participation in the online pre-conference is free of charge. All interested parties, especially students, will gain an interesting insight into the issues of technical education around the globe.
We have prepared the following program for you:
- Welcome
- Plenary lecture: Hans Joachim Bargstädt on engineering education in Vietnam - what can we learn from it? Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Joachim Bargstädt from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is a founding member of the 4ING Faculty Days and was its chairman in 2017 and 2018. From February to June 2020, he worked as a visiting professor in Vietnam together with local universities on teaching programs and research proposals. Despite - or perhaps because of - the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, he gained insightful insights into both the pedagogical program in engineering education and how to deal with current challenges.
- Short presentations: Short presentations with discussion: Contributions submitted and reviewed for the 15th annual conference, which are brought forward and published online at the request of the speakers.
- Parallel workshops by IPW working group: The working groups "Ethics in the digital world", "Vocational education", "Fundamentals of engineering education" and "People and technology" invite discussion with keynote speeches. The experiences of online teaching this year will also be taken up and discussed in various contexts.
- Summary and conclusion
The contributions will then be published online and published in the 2021 conference proceedings.
- Conference languages: German and English
- Conference fee: none
