Girls' and Boys' Day at the HSZG!

On the nationwide Girls’ and Boys’ Day on April 25, students in grades 5 through 9 can get a taste of careers that are typically associated with the opposite gender. The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is participating again this year.

COME TO THE ZITTAU/GÖRLITZ UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

During the nationwide Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day on Thursday, April 25, 2024, students in grades 5 through 9 can spend the morning getting a taste of careers that are typically associated with the opposite gender. Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is participating again and has put together a program for this “Future Day” that’s sure to inspire students:

True to the motto: Come by and see how you can shape the future with robots, build your own dream house in 3D, or experience chemistry with all your senses. Students will gain interesting insights into the university, have the chance to try things out, and take a look behind the scenes in the research labs.

Here’s a look back at last year’s event!

The activities will take place in Zittau starting at 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., respectively, and will end at 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. The HSZG is pleased to invite the students to join us for lunch afterward at the Zittau student canteen on Hochwaldstraße. A member of the university administration and the Student Advisory Service will be on hand to answer any questions. Participants will receive a certificate of participation following the event.

To register, female students should simply enter “University of Zittau/Görlitz” in the search bar on Girls’ Day Radar, and male students should do the same on Boys’ Day Radar —and registration can begin right away. Participation is free, and students can use the student ticket through ZVON to travel to Zittau. Requests for excused absences from school for this day should be submitted to the respective school.

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences looks forward to welcoming many interested students!

Nature Shows Us How
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Have you ever noticed how similar a diver’s flippers can be to a duck’s feet, or how an airplane in the sky resembles a bird? Many technical inventions are based on natural mechanisms that shape our environment. Humans have drawn inspiration from animals and plants in many ways. The connection between biology and technology lies at the heart of the fascinating field of bionics. Let’s discover together what we’ve already learned from nature.
