Campus talk in Chinese

In the campus talk 'hello@hszg', Xue Fan from China talks about what he particularly likes about studying at the HSZG and what hobby he has discovered for himself.

Xue Fan is enthusiastic about German cuisine and his studies at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. The 22-year-old comes from China and has been at the HSZG for almost three months to study mechatronics. This is made possible by the exchange program of the Chinese-German University of Applied Sciences (CDHAW), in which the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is involved.

"The CDHAW is an institution within Tongji University in the heart of the megacity of Shanghai," explains Xue Fan. The 26 German partner universities of the German University Consortium for International Cooperation, to which the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has also belonged since the founding of the CDHAW, are involved both professionally and in student exchanges as part of a double degree program.

Students such as Xue Fan from China have the opportunity to study at the HSZG as part of this cooperation. Since 2007, up to ten mechatronics students have taken up this offer every year. What makes him particularly happy? "That I can study here with my friends," says the mechatronics student. The current five Chinese students at the HSZG are particularly fond of cooking together.

Were there any particular challenges? "The courses in German," he admits with a smile, "but the lecturers and fellow students have given me and my friends good support."

He already has plans for the future. After completing his Bachelor's degree, he would also like to complete his Master's degree in Germany.

In the campus talk under the heading 'hello@hszg', Xue Fan introduces himself and talks about his experiences at the HSZG so far.

Interested in studying in China?

At the HSZG, students of mechatronics have the opportunity to participate in the program of Tongji University and the German University Consortium for International Cooperation. This cooperation offers students the unique opportunity to gain valuable practical experience, acquire international skills and broaden their cultural horizons in the heart of the breathtaking metropolis of Shanghai.
