Are you between 13 and 27 years old? Then take the opportunity to help shape your city and your campus!
On Monday, June 10, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can participate in the creative workshop "An early shift for my Görlitz. Shaping Saxony as a land of science" contribute your ideas and visions for the future of Görlitz as a science location. Together, we will shape the transformation in the areas of studying, living, working and leisure.
"How should the living environment, university, leisure facilities and urban society be designed so that you can study in Görlitz? What would have to change for you to see your future in Görlitz?" These and other questions are the focus of the event.
After exciting workshops with scientists and future developers from business, culture and communication, you will present your ideas in a pitch to a top-class jury, including Minister President Michael Kretschmer and Science Minister Sebastian Gemkow.
Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is participating with a themed table led by Vice-Rector for Education and International Affairs Prof. Dr. Sophia Keil. This will be supported by Prof. Dr. Falk Maiwald and Sebastian Benad (M.A.) from the Faculty of Management and Cultural Studies as well as Christian Tiller and Robert Viertel (M.A.) from the strategic university initiative "Zukunftslernort Oberlausitz" (ZukLOS).
Main topic: How do we design a future-proof degree program that combines digital technologies, practical studies, sustainability, social responsibility and mobility?

In order to find answers to these questions and get young people excited about the upcoming transformation, the Saxon Agency for Structural Development (SAS ), in collaboration with the Ministry of Science's campaign "SPIN2030. Saxony as a Land of Science" campaign and the HI Lusatia! initiative developed an event entitled "An early shift for my Görlitz. Shaping Saxony as a Land of Science".
