Signs against prejudice and racism
The student project "Mensch, Görlitz!" presents itself at the action weeks against racism in the district of Görlitz.
Monique Ritter’s aim and goal is to actively promote tolerance and peaceful coexistence in the district. The student project “Mensch, Görlitz!” , led by the lecturer with a specified function in the Faculty of Social Sciences, will participate in the Action Weeks Against Racism in the Görlitz district through a community exhibition.
The exhibition will be on display from March 14 to 27 at the IBZ St. Marienthal in Ostritz . On March 21, former students involved in the project will give a presentation on-site .
The “Mensch, Görlitz!” project aims to reach out to and appeal to as many residents of Görlitz as possible.
"Our mission is to make visible and promote the exchange and encounter of diverse voices from Görlitz on socio-politically relevant topics with the clear aim of strengthening the perspectives of people with experience of flight and migration in public discourse," explains Monique Ritter.
”This issue, which is viewed from a racism-critical and post-colonial perspective, is now being addressed in the form of citizens' exhibitions with accompanying discussion rounds.
The project was funded by the Free State of Saxony via the Saxon Participation Fund and the Görlitz District Office, Integration Department.
