For the 10th time, entrepreneurs from the region met researchers from the university at the New Year's reception.
On Thursday evening, January 10, 2019, around 150 participants met for the 10th time at the annual "Business meets Science" New Year's reception.
The Zittau branch of the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the Dresden Chamber of Crafts (HWK) and the Allgemeine Unternehmerverband Zittau und Umgebung e.V. organized the event together with the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
The program looked back at the beginnings of the event series as well as into the future. The university was praised by Matthias Schwarzbach (IHK) for its good education and the low barriers to entry for the exchange with the regional economy. It is not only the KIA degree courses that contribute to the dovetailing of studies and business practice. Companies can also approach the HSZG with challenging research tasks in the future. Good examples and current developments at the HSZG were presented on stage in the form of short interviews.
In the foyer of the Peter-Dierich-Haus (Z IV), the winter evening was concluded with a buffet and drinks. All participants had the opportunity to discuss interesting details of the plans for future projects between research, trade and industry.
For mutual knowledge and technology transfer between small and medium-sized enterprises and the HSZG, "Business meets Science" will take place for the next time on January 9, 2020.
