Traveling exhibition on radiation research

An exhibition of the Competence Network Radiation Research at the HSZG from June 12 to July 4, 2019.

The exhibition Radiation Research is intended to represent the broad spectrum of action of ionizing radiation in our daily lives. On the one hand, there is the radiation exposure caused by radioactive substances in our environment, by high-altitude radiation during flights, the intake of radioactive substances in food or when smoking. On the other hand, there is the use of X-rays in medical diagnostics and cancer therapy as well as in the functional testing of human organs using specific trace elements.

This exhibition presents a broad spectrum of radiation exposure and research by means of illustrations and explanations of natural and artificial radiation exposure, medical applications in diagnostics and therapy as well as basic research.

The exhibition is intended to contribute to strengthening the position of radiation research in science, but also in public perception.

This exhibition is aimed at all interested employees and students of the university, but also at school classes from grammar schools and technical colleges, as well as interested members of the public.
