Discussion event on the transatlantic free trade agreement TTIP was very well attended.
In the packed lecture hall 0.02 of the Peter-Dierich-Haus of the HSZG in Zittau, Thomas Jurk, Member of the Bundestag, and the professors of the university Johannes Laser and Mario Straßberger discussed the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) currently being negotiated between the EU and the USA via with university members and other citizens. Under the confident moderation of Master's student Florian Rahtz, the discussion focused on the potential impact of this agreement. Both the global balance of power and regulations for cucumber sizes were discussed.
The event, organized together with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, reflected the uncertainties about the expected effects of TTIP on everyone's lives.
