New steam compressor at ZKWL

The Zittau power plant laboratory has had a 1-cylinder steam compressor since the beginning of August.

On August 2, the 1-cylinder steam compressor from the Hamburg-based company SPILLING was lifted into the laboratory hall of the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory (ZKWL). The steam compressor, which is being set up as part of the steam compressor test field project, serves as the basis for the experimental and simulation-based optimization of innovative steam compressor systems. The aim of the project is to create an experimental infrastructure for the development of innovative, efficient and environmentally friendly steam compressors for high-temperature heat pumps.
