Launch of the new VATI Navigator

Digital, regionally integrated communication and service network for the inclusion of older people goes online.

On September 15, 2020, the research institute 'Health, Ageing, Technology' (GAT) officially launched the new VATI Navigator at https://vati-navigator.de/ .

VATI stands for "Trust in Assistance Technologies for the Inclusion" of older people and aims to make it easier for the older generation and their relatives to live independently in their homes and actively participate in social life through the use of technical aids.

VATI is also intended to enable craftsmen and other small and medium-sized companies from the region to offer such products to the public. The starting point is the idea that companies from the region should better understand the needs of local people. VATI serves the neutral information of the population - we do not sell anything.

The VATI Technology Navigator was developed in the research project of the same name, which was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in 2014-2017 as part of the SILQUA ("Social Innovations for Quality of Life in Old Age") funding guideline.

What's new?

The new VATI Navigator was expanded in 2019-2020 with financial support from the Saxon Ministry of Science and the Arts (SMWK) to become a digital, regionally integrated communication and service network and welcomes users with a thoroughly revised, modern and user-friendly design.

In addition to technical aids, it now also includes offers for age-appropriate living, mobility aids, care and health technology and other services for older people. Organizations that advise senior citizens on care and other issues relating to life in old age can now also be reached via the VATI Navigator.

The technology advice is also linked to the AAL laboratory in the Frauenburgkarree of KommWohnen Görlitz, which is also operated by the GAT Institute, for on-site technology advice in cooperation with Saxony5.

The results of a short online survey (3 minutes) will be used to continuously improve the Navigator. We also welcome feedback at vati(at)hszg.de.

Further dates this year:

October 15 - Launch of the virtual 360-degree tour of the AAL lab

November 15 - Reopening of the AAL lab to visitors (in compliance with the applicable hygiene regulations and distancing rules)

December 15 - Launch of the virtual tour with technical advice through the AAL lab
