The district of Görlitz has managed to organize larger quantities of hand disinfectant. However, this is still in large 5-liter containers. The disinfectant must now be decanted into smaller containers so that it can be used by everyone.

However, handling hazardous substances and biocides - especially in larger quantities - requires special measures. The district of Görlitz therefore asked the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences at the HSZG to check whether it would be possible to use laboratories with appropriate protective equipment.

With the Organic Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty N has suitable conditions. After internal coordination and preparations, the district was promised the support of the HSZG.

On Wednesday, April 22, the first 50 liters were transferred into handy 1 liter containers. Just one day later, they were available to the district of Görlitz for further distribution to professional users (e.g. the state police). The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences assured the district of its continued support if required.
