Students develop concept ideas and visions for its use as a European meeting center.
Seven students from our faculty, supported by the Sparkasse Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien and the Förderverein Stadthalle Görlitz as part of the joint research project "Kulturbrücke Neiße - Nysa", are researching the possibilities for designing the "New Center" of the Europastadt GörlitZgorzelec. They are developing concept ideas and visions for the use of the Görlitz town hall as a European meeting center.
The Zgorzelec "Dom Kultury" and the university campus on both sides of the city bridge are involved in the research to find ideas for a cultural bridge to the neighboring city. The highlight of this phase was the direct contact between the students and and around 1500 visitors on 18.07.2017, the open renovation day in the town hall.
The visitors wrote down their ideas for the use of the hall on the flipchart provided for this purpose. In the afternoon, Ms. Regina Risy from Sparkasse Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien presented the team with a cheque for 1,500 euros to support the project.
On July 5, 2017, the students will present their results publicly at the university on the occasion of the semester exams (July 5, 2017, 10:00 a.m., House GII, Room 0.10).
